Abstract

The article explores how artificial intelligence (AI) is revolutionizing the field of writing by integrating aspects of computational linguistics, natural language processing (NLP), and ethical considerations. It analyzes the advancements that have led to the development of sophisticated AI-assisted writing systems, including deep learning models and text generation, with a focus on current challenges and future research directions. Using Noam Chomsky's theories on generative grammar as a starting point, the work examines the evolution of his critiques of AI, from his initial reservations about behaviorist models to his more recent reflections on the limitations of deep learning technologies. The article highlights the difference between mere language simulation by machines and actual comprehension, emphasizing the importance of a robust linguistic theory for the progress of AI in the linguistic domain.
